The Hardware Test Engineer role is to provide support in the execution and delivery of lithium-ion battery systems per requirements, project timing and budget, with emphasis on system testing. The engineer will be responsible for understanding the Battery System and Battery Management System (BMS) operations, plan and execute validation tests. 

Job Responsibilities  The following responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, build, and program automated test platforms
  • Design End-of-Line production test equipment and procedures
  • Work with development team to identify test cases
  • Review and understand automotive test and safety standards
  • Ensure that the product meets automotive test standards
  • Support the design and build of prototype battery systems for testing purposes
  • Testing all aspects of product/system such as function/component, system, performance, regression,service
  • Participate and contribute to development discussions

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering 
  • Must have a good understanding of microprocessor-based electronics and power electronics design
  • Must have basic understanding of Lithium-Ion battery system architectures 
  • Basic understanding of electric vehicles system architectures is preferred
  • Experience with using and debugging Controller Area Network (CAN) and other serial protocols
  • Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and development
  • Experience with Python and C/C++ programming language
  • Good analytical problem-solving skills 
  • Basic understanding of software and hardware development cycle
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
