The Sr. Systems Engineer role is to plan, execute, and deliver Li-Ion Battery Systems requirements and analysis according to project timing and budget. This includes working with team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver requirements according to the plan. 

Job Requirements

  • Knowledgeable with requirements creation related to automotive electronic applications
  • Knowledgeable with automotive “V” model development
  • Experience with DFMEA creation and maintenance
  • Experience with Functional Safety - ISO26262
  • A thorough understanding of architecture for electric vehicles and Lithium-Ion battery systems
  • Experience with energy storage systems and high voltage
  • Good understanding of microprocessor based electronics and electronic circuits
  • CAN experience, with the ability to analyze CAN bus data
  • Experience with Battery systems test equipment: climate chamber, battery cyclers
  • Experience with HIL test and development
  • National Instruments and dSpace is a plus 
  • Good analytical problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Responsibilities The following responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Review of Customer Requirements and subsequent translation into internal Systems Requirements Specification
  • Maintain requirement traceability and compliance
  • Understanding of calibration and tolerance requirements based on customer specification
  • Produce & take ownership of System DFMEAs a boundary diagrams
  • Perform hazard analyses in accordance with ISO26262
  • Create DVP&R’s based off requirements
  • Perform root cause analysis and statistical analysis on use incidents and field returns
  • Manipulate High Voltage battery systems for troubleshooting and testing purposes
  • Participate in Project Team meetings and report on System Development activities as appropriate


  • Bachelor Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Masters is a plus
  • Between 3-5+ years professional experience
